Performance

Persistfolio distinguishes between three different types of performance information. Understanding these distinctions is important when interpreting performance information published by Persistfolio.

1. Historical / Hypothetical Analysis

Where shown, historical analysis reflects how a model portfolio methodology would have applied to historical data. These results are hypothetical and backtested. They do not represent an investment or model portfolio that actually existed during the period shown, and they are not a projection of future performance.

2. Prospective Model Portfolio Performance

This is Persistfolio's primary long-term focus. After a model portfolio is published, its model performance is tracked prospectively against the S&P 500 from its publication date.

Portfolio composition is not changed retroactively. Holdings and subsequent portfolio changes are recorded as they occur, creating a transparent record of what happened after publication.

3. Actual Investor Performance

Persistfolio does not track or report the performance of individual investor accounts. Published model portfolio performance represents the performance of the model itself, not the experience of any individual investor.

Actual investor results may differ due to factors including trade execution, transaction costs, fees, taxes, contribution and withdrawal timing, and other individual circumstances.

Past performance, whether historical, hypothetical, or prospectively tracked, does not guarantee future results.
