READ FIRST - CORRECTIONS TO THE DOCUMENTS INSIDE YOUR ZIP
Dataset: h1b-lca-fy2010-fy2025-2026-10-09. These corrections are published with the product and are part of the license (see LICENSE.txt, section 9).

The data files in the ZIP are correct and verified (hashes in CHECKSUMS.sha256 and MANIFEST.json). The documents inside the ZIP were written earlier and contain statements that are out of date or wrong. The versions on the product page (persistfolio.com/datasets/h1b-lca-employer-occupation-fy2010-fy2025) are the current ones and win when they differ. In particular:

1. DRAFT banners and the license. The ZIP contains README.md, RELEASE_NOTES.md and RELEASE_CERTIFICATION_REPORT.md with words like "DRAFT", "not for distribution", "NOT CLEARED" or "pending counsel/rights review", and a file LICENSE_DRAFT_PENDING_COUNSEL.txt. Ignore those statements and that file. The license that applies is LICENSE.txt (Persistfolio Data License v1.0) on the product page. No lawyer has reviewed the license or the rights position; do not read any document as a legal clearance.
2. Formats. The ZIP is Parquet only (data/parquet/). Some documents say CSV files or a sample/ folder are included. They are not. The free sample is a separate download from the product page.
3. "Values preserved as filed". Documents may say filed values are kept as filed. There are two exceptions: 4,608 free-text cells have identifier-like strings replaced by [REDACTED-...] tokens, and 84,759 ids derived from excluded fields were replaced by opaque ids (one-to-one). See LIMITATIONS 12 and 15 and qa/PRIVACY_REDACTION_LEDGER.csv.
4. Checksum file. CHECKSUMS.sha256 lists 67 files. Not all are in the ZIP (the ZIP has 49 files: no CSV data files and no sample archive). Verify what you have with: sha256sum -c --ignore-missing CHECKSUMS.sha256
5. Review status. Documents may describe a review as pending or as a condition before sale. The actual status: builder QA plus one AI reviewer; no independent human audit; no legal opinion obtained. The reconciliation exceptions (eight of 29 sources) stand as documented.
6. Names. Employer names are as filed in DOL's public files, including some that are or contain a person's name. Removal and correction requests: LICENSE.txt section 7, info@persistfolio.com.
7. Free sample. Copies downloaded before 2026-10-10 carry a README.md with a "DRAFT - not to be published" banner and a file LICENSE_DRAFT_PENDING_COUNSEL.txt: ignore both. The current sample has corrected documentation and its own LICENSE.txt; the evaluation terms are in LICENSE.txt section 16 (no redistribution, no use of the sample as a source of contact data, no identifying or deciding about individuals). The sample is selected to show difficult cases and its rates are not the dataset's rates. Its files (CSV and Parquet) are unchanged.
8. Example 2 in README (sponsor target list). Use it for company-level research; do not use the dataset as the source of contact details for contacting individuals (LICENSE.txt section 5b).
